The Call

I was driving in to work when the call came in (which, of course, I missed).  Your mother was at her appointment to see how things were progressing, and they said you were coming today!  You can imaging our surprise!

Before we head to the hospital, and before things get too crazy, I'd like to tell you a bit about the day you were born, or at least when mom went into labor.
  • It is unseasonably warm (if you ask me) for mid-Autumn, about 71 degrees at 10:45am.  It is partly sunny, though, and the clouds kept giving way to sun, which throw a beautiful highlight onto the remaining leaves.
  • It is just past the peak of the Fall colors, or maybe at the tail end of peak.  Still gorgeous, let's at least say that.  There are plenty of leaves still on the trees and falling with scenic flair.  Those that remain are very beautiful, since they are fully turned.  We are starting to see more and more trees with barren branches, but that just means the holidays are on the way!
  • It is a Friday, and everything seems all right with the world strangely.
  • We are beyond words excited and nervous and happy all at the same time.
Like our wedding day, I'm sure things will fly by before we know what happened, so I plan to document as much as possible via pictures.  I don't want to be one of 'those guys,' but I don't want to forget this moment, which I know is going to be easy to do with how momentous the day is.

We are just so excited to meet you!
